Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I absolutely love the Real Techniques range and this miracle complexion sponge does not disappoint and is only £5.99!

It states that it gives a pixel perfect base that you have always dreamed of. It has multi use as it has rounded sides, a precision tip and flat edge. These can be used for stippling, covering blemishes and contours around the eye area.

Usually I use the Real Techniques expert face brush to apply my foundation or I would use my fingers but I find the problem with using my hands is that it breaks me out :(. I have never really liked using sponges before as I think they just absorb all the product but with this I don't feel like it does.

It applies foundation really well and does give a great finish. I have used this to apply my favourite foundation at the moment by Max Factor (post coming soon!) and the sponge is also really easy to clean. It feels amazing too when smoothing over the face and I just can rave about this enough lol!

Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eyeshadow

I use this eyeshadow daily! I am a big fan of Revlon products other than their primer lol.  I have been trying to find what the product contains but I cant seem to find it anywhere!

Revlon ColorStay ( theres not a u - this feels odd for me lol ) eyeshadow states that it lasts up to 16 hours and is silky smooth, blendable and will not smudge. You can get this in 16 quad shades and the above shade is Addictive and these are around £7.99.

This does come with an eyeshadow applicator but I lost it. I tend to always loose bits like that but they are usually rubbish anyway!

I don't tend to wear bright eyeshadow as it doesn't really suit me and I don't feel bold enough to wear colour! I chose Addictive because it was nice and natural but you can get some brighter shades.  As you can see from the picture I tend to use just the one shade which is no.2 over the base of my lid and they would add eyeliner.  On the odd occasion I will use every shade like the picture demonstrates above which also looks nice and I love that Revlon has a picture on the back of the product on how you can wear it.

The above pictures is me with all the shades, sorry the pictures are not better quality! I also don't have any mascara on in the pictures.

Now I cant say I have worn this for 16 hours but it does last me for at least 8 hours when I wore it to work.  Its really easy to apply and blendable and gives a nice finish. Its definitely one that will stay in my make up bag for a while!

Blanx White Shock Intensive Whitening Treatment

I bought this because I saw a few reviews saying how good it was. I always want my teeth to look whiter not that they are badly yellow but I still think they can be improved. I have previously used Crest 3D whitening strips which although they can cause tooth sensitivity they are the best home whitening treatment I have used. Plus I already have sensitive teeth anyway so the sensitivity part doesn't bother me!

This claims to have teeth up to 4 shades whiter in just 2 weeks and it does not contain peroxide which means no tooth sensitivity! You have to use this 2-3 times daily with the toothpaste provided and then use the Blanx LED light for a minute after brushing. They also recommend to use the bite for 10 minutes once a week for a more 'shocking' whiteness. It comes with a shade chart to measure before and after results.

I found the toothpaste was a bit tough to pump out but maybe I am really weak! The toothpaste doesn't taste horrible, its a mild mint. Once you have brushed your teeth and once you have finished with the LED light, when you switch the light off it makes a beep noise, I don't really find this necessary as you know its off as the light isn't on.

Now the 2 weeks have passed and I haven't really noticed any results maybe just a really minimal and I mean minimal change that no one would notice other then me (hence no pictures of before and after). As this was £15.99 I think it was pretty expensive for what it is and I think I will stick to Crest and their peroxide or get my teeth done professionally!

Have you guys tried any whitening treatments?

Garnier Body Repair - Extra Dry Skin

As it's now approaching the colder months I thought I would do a post on my favourite body moisturiser at the moment. As my skin gets very dry especially in the winter!

Garnier Body Repair for extra dry skin is an anti dryness restoring moisturiser. This one contains maple sap which is known for 'its soothing properties'. It also is meant to make your skin feel more comfortable and relieve the tightness and roughness and leave skin moisturised for 24 hours.

On the Garnier website it states 97% agreed skin feels more comfortable after first use.

Now I found, that this extra dry skin one was hard to come across, wherever I looked it was out of stock and it felt like I was searching for the Holy Grail!

I finally found this in Superdrug, yay praise to you Superdrug! Its around £6.15 which isn't too bad of a price and I absolutely love this at the moment and it was a good investment! I tend to get these little dry patches on my arms and have found that no matter what moisturiser I tried for example Vaseline, Soap and Glory nothing would improve it. So when I tried this I thought the same thing would happen and I was going to have to live forever with these horrible patches.

Garnier has proved me wrong! I haven't used many Garnier products, other than their hair dye which I like.  I can say from the first use it has made my arms a lot softer and the roughness is actually starting to fade. Hallelujah!!!

It doesn't have a strong smell which I like as its not over powering and it doesn't feel greasy and also absorbs quickly (which is a good point in my book because I hate the feeling of when your clothes sticks to moisturises, body butter).  Ick!

I was using this on face but have recently read the back of the bottle which states it should not be used on the face and now i'm scared incase it creates wrinkles on the face or something! D:

You can get similar products from Garnier with different results such as the Hydralock Moisturising  Milk which maintains a non stop hydration for smooth feeling skin, Summer body moisturiser which gradully builds up a tan and Garnier Body tonic with seaweed extract which leaves skin feeling moisturised and firmer.

This is such a good product and this will be what I will be using a lot in the winter to keep my skin feeling soft! I know Caroline Hirons is a fan too :)

Beauty Blogger Tag

* state that this tag was created by http://thebeaubow.blogspot.co.uk/
* tag some more beauty bloggers
* title this as I've done to show what the tag is about

I have been tagged in the Beauty Blogger tag by Liz :) I love her blog and you should all go check it out! I really enjoyed doing this tag, rather fun!

This tag was created by http://thebeaubow.blogspot.co.uk

On to my Questions & Answers:

1. Name a beauty routine you rarely do.

I bought lots of products to have a skin care regime and at first I used to follow it and use every product but now I just use the one or two instead of doing the whole regime. But I have found from doing this my skin has cleared more!

2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?

I probably should do it more then what I do but when I do clean them I clean them for ages! I do clean my foundation brush fairly often though.

3. How long will you last with chipped nail varnish?

It depends on how bad the chips are! I dont like chipped nail polish but sometimes I can keep it on for a while but if its quick drying polish I dont mind sorting it out.

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it (i.e. - top coat, foundation, etc.)?
I am always buying new beauty products, I buy more beauty products then I do clothes! But as soon as I know something is getting low I will get it as soon as I can.

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
I dont really do anything with my hair, I dont get it cut often, dont really style it. I find this a bit weird as I did hairdressing but I enjoy doing other peoples hair just not mine! I dont even use heat protector that often, but my hairdresser does always comment on how healthy and good condition my hair is in :)

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off all the time.

Texting people back. I read the text and think I will respond later but I never do because I forget!

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?

Nope, I dont like the feeling that I have to rush so I always get ready in advance and always am ready early which I then hate having to wait.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?

No, spending is a big problem of mine... I just cant stop, though if I am saving for something like a course I have learnt I can! :)

9. How organized is your makeup and nail polish collections?

All my nail polishes are in a box and my make up is all on my shelf so it isnt too bad, my make up just isnt that neat on the shelf.

10. What is the longest time you've gone without writing a blog post?

I dont actually know, I just try to do them as much as I can and as and when I have time :)

MUA Fur Effects and MUA Nail Constellation

I was looking at the MUA products in Superdrug when my sister showed me this. I thought it was a really different type of nail product which is why I bought it. You can get this in different colours such as pink and the price is only £3.00.

To apply this you apply a clear base coat to your nails and then you can press the nail whilst its still wet in the pot or pour it over the nail. Then remove any excess and pat dry.

I wouldn't say I was impressed by this but then I didn't really have high hopes in the first place. I don't think you could wear this for everyday wear and it looks quite cheap. It also comes off really easily and this can also get messy when applying.  The fur itself though feels really soft and it reminds me of candy floss.

I would say the fur effects is like when you get cotton wool stuck to wet nail varnish.

I also bought MUA Nail Constellation.

I love the colour of these beads and like the fur effects you have to use a clear base coat and then pour them on the nail before it dries. This is also £3.00 in Superdrug.

This again can get quite messy, I got beads everywhere! However I did quite like the finish look and I think it would look nice on maybe just one nail instead of all of them. I also put a clear coat on top to see if that would help make the beads stay but it just ruined the colours of the beads, so I advise not to do that!

Overall I wont be buying the fur effects again but I do like the constellation beads :)

Loreal Paris Skin Perfecting Awakening Eye Cream

I bought this quite a few weeks ago whilst browsing Boots.  I thought I would try it out as I liked the sound of Loreal Skin Perfection range.

Loreal's Skin Perfection range states 'Pixel-perfect your skin and the first to help transform the appearance of skin quality, as if perfected. Pores look virtually undetectable, tone looks more even, skin texture feels silky-soft.'

It was also on offer (always a good thing!) and the Awakening Eye Cream claimed to transform the eye contour and appearance of dark circles, eye bags and fine lines and refreshes and brightens tired looking eyes. To me that sounded really good.

So far the Loreal make up products I have tired have not impressed me
and I cant say this has either, which is weird because I love love love their hair products! Their Elvive Triple Resist reinforcing shampoo is one of my all time favourite products!

I find this cream has an odd smell that kind of reminds me of savlon cream or antiseptic cream! Maybe its just me being weird lol. I dont find it blends well and goes all patchy and makes my eyes look worse. I wouldnt say it covered dark circles either as its quite transparent and also didnt make a difference in the fine line area not that I have many fine lines! It didnt brighten my eyes and the only good thing I can probably say about this product is that it does make my eyes feel a bit refreshed as it feels quite cold once applied.

This was definitely a waste of my money spent :(

Instead they done in it the afternoon and then asked me to say a little something and I didnt know what to say, I was too embarrassed lol!

I had a nice last lunch with my friends and hope to keep in touch wither everyone!

I also managed to leave my mark by spilling a big glass of water everywhere on my desk that I had stuck my flowers in. Whooopsie.

Johnsons

Last year my skin went really dry, especially on my face, it became really leathery :(. I don't know why it got so bad but it did and it really frustrated me.
I tried lots of products like vaseline, e45 etc to try and moisturise but nothing worked. Then I got Johnson's Soothing Naturals Intensive Moisture cream and some Johnsons Baby Oil and hallelujah something finally worked! Happy Emma :D

It claims to relieve dry skin from the first use and it combines Johnsons mildness with a unique blend of Olive leaf extract, pure Vitamin E and skin essential minerals, proven to be more effective than each ingredient alone. It has been tested by dermatologists and clinically proven mild and developed with pediatricians!

To me last year this stuff was my holy grail . It smells really good (I sometimes sit there and smell it for a good 10 minutes lol), a great price at £1.60 and I do find it does work from the first use. My skin has actually just started to play up again and whilst I have been using hydraluron which is also amazing! My skin is still being stubborn so I have whipped out the Johnsons Soothing Naturals Intensive Moisture cream and its proving to make a difference yet again!

This will definitely be out for Autumn/Winter.
