Max Factor False Lash Effects Mascara

I always find myself going back to Max Factor's False Lash Effects Mascara.  It claims to double your lash size without the fuss of false lashes. This is also one of Max Factors top selling mascaras, with apparently 3 selling across the UK every minute!

This RRP around £10.99 so its nice and cheap and I find when I apply it feels like I am combing my eye lashes and I kind of like that feeling lol. It stays on all day and doesn't smudge and comes off nice and easily with make up remover. Its a Emma fav!

Lef eye- No Mascara Right eye- Max Factor False Lash Effect

I also want to try their False Lash effect Fusion mascara which creates volume and longer lashes and is also meant to be good for contact lense wearers! Wahoo :)

A few months ago I tried Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara, which is meant to help your lashes grow if you use daily over 30 days. This mascara is horrible! I threw it away after a few weeks because I just didn't like it at all. It did nothing to my lashes and I also didn't like how it applied it felt really rough (I think Rimmel wanted to pull my eyelashes out ).

Rimmel pop your pink

I am always wearing nail varnish and I am a big fan of Barry M nail varnish for their range of colours. But I thought I would venture out a bit and try another brand for a change. So I decided to pick Rimmel! I have tried one of their nail varnishes before, their 60 second drying one and was quite impressed!

I have been searching for a fluorescent pink for ages! My friend at work has an amazing shade from avon but I still cant find it so when I found pop your pink I had to get it.

I love this shade, its a nice bright pink and the brighter the nail varnish the more I love it! I have to say my picture doesn't really do it justice. This RRP at £2.99 which is a great price and this dries really quick which is AMAZING as I hate waiting for nail polish to dry and then when I think its dry it really isn't and I smudge it! Then my world ends after that lol.

The only downfall I have so far is that when it dries it doesn't really have shine but a clear top coat would sort that out.

Overall I am impressed with Rimmel nail varnish and their shades they really do have some amazing colours in their lasting finish and great names for them!

Bourjois Evening in Paris

My third and final vintage item is my Bourjois Evening in Paris Face Powder. This one is Rachel- for creamy light rachel skins.

Bourjois is a french company owned by the Werthemeir family which was launched in 1863. Jospeh-Albert Ponsin (Actor) created make up sticks in a range of colours with amusing names such as Lovesick, especially for the theatre. He also created a product to whiten the skin  to replace greasy stage make up.

I again couldnt find what year this was made in but I did find other Evening in Paris face powder products with slightly different packaging.

Mary Quant Crayons

These are my favourite vintage make up item I own !!! I love the fact that they are hardly used too :) They come with instructions which suggests you can draw a flower anywhere on your body!

Mary Quant is a British fashion designer and encouraged young people to dress to please themselves and treat fashion as a game.

In 1966 she launched her own cosmetics line and also has recieved an O.B.E for her achievement with the mini skirt. Mary Quant has a diploma in art education from Goldsmiths College in London, which is where she also met her husband Alexander Plunkett Greene.

I Love Vintage Make Up - Yardley Bee Makeup Base

Above are the vintage makeup items I own, it will grow!
From left to right is Bourjois Evening in Paris - Mary Quant Crayons - Yardley Bee Makeup Base.

Now I thought each item deserved its very own blog post so first of I am starting with the Yardley Bee!

Now I don't know much on Yardley so I did do some research.

I love the packaging of this even thought the lid is plastic, the bee is so cute! I tried to find when this was made, which was a really hard task and I still am not sure but I think its from the 1960's. If you know please tell me :)

On the bottom it tells you where to apply it and the finish it gives. This is in shade medium.

Time for the history part now!
Yardley Bee or Yardley London was established in 1770! That makes me feel young ;) lol! It is a major producer of soap and perfumes and hold two Royal Warrants. British model Twiggy also became a face for Yardely in the 1960's and Yardely became a symbol of the 'Swinging London'

1940s poster

So that is item 1 of my collection, here is a link if you would like to read more about Yardley Bee with some amazing posters! http://www.cosmeticsandskin.com/companies/yardley.php

I would like to thank wikipedia for educating me more on Yardely.

Clinique Take the day off Cleansing Balm

I am so in love with the product!  Now I haven't been using this for long but I can say it has become one of my all time favourites already ! :)

I wear make up every day to work or if i'm going out.  I used to remove my make up with wipes until I found out that they are not a good thing and are evil! Containing alcohol and being a breeding ground for bacteria..yuk!

The take the day off balm is about £21.00 in the UK which is such a good price because this will definitely last you a while. I know you can get this at Boots or Debenhams  and I did try to get this at my local Boots store but had no luck, so I took a trip to Debenhams instead and it was a success :)

Now this is a lightweight balm which removes the dirt and make up from the face. You don't really need a lot as a little goes a long way and all you have to do is just rub it over and it becomes oily and dissolves the make up. You then can wipe it off with a damp warm flannel.

This is suitable for all skin types and is 100% fragrance free - great for all us sensitive skin people!

This is definitely a better way to remove make up (I actually think its quicker then wipes) and tbh I don't know why it has taken me so long to get a cleansing balm. My face feels so much cleaner and refreshed after using this whereas wipes I found just made my face sore and didn't actually remove all the make up.

This is a keeper!

It would be great though if you could get it in a range of colours instead of white like pink for example.  It would just make it a bit more fun ... rubbing pink over your face! lol

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

I bought this as a cheaper alternative (£5.50) to Fresh Sugar Lip Polish ($22.50) as I cant justify paying around £12 for some sugar.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub contains castor sugar, organic jojoba oil, methyl Ionone flavour, colour 45410, colour 45380. Mine was also made by Pawel if anyone would like to know!

The lip scrubs are also available in popcorn and mint but the bubblegum one caught my eye, I think its because it reminded me of ice cream...

I am really impressed with this lip scrub and glad I went for it as it does what it says. It leaves my lips in tip top condition, clears dead skin and flakiness, leaving them smooth and the smell is amazing! Its a great base for lipstick. I also love the fact Lush is against animal testing.

The only down point is that it can be a bit sickly if you put too much on or if your not a fan of sweet things.

I will definately buy this again and I showed it to my sister who also liked it :)

BH Cosmetics 120 Palette 2nd Edition

I bought the BH Cosmetics palette quite a while back now. I bought it because I saw the amazing eye looks Katie Alves creates using them http://katiealves.deviantart.com/ .  I love the colours BH does and I chose the 2nd edition as it contains bright and neutral shades.

The ingredients are Talc, Mica, Mineral Oil, Kaolin, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Lanolin, Methylparaben, Propylparaben and BHT.

I cant say I have used this too much but I think thats due to the fact I only really wear neutral eyeshadow specifically Revlon Colourstay Addictive Intoxiquant. However I did use this for a Make up portfolio I had to create for ' my favourite theatre production' and they liked my photos!

The colours do come out bright especially if you layer them and they also blend really well and have good staying power. Even the red in the photo is eyeshadow.  The variety of colours is amazing too as well as the price!

All in all I think the palette is really good and I should really use it more!

P.s I hope my eyes don't scare you too much :)

Loreal Infallible Lipliner

708 Always Toasted
I bought Loreal Infallible Lipliner after I watched Lisa Eldrige - How to make thin or uneven lips look full and fabulous http://lisaeldridge.com/video/25716/how-to-make-thin-or-uneven-lips-look-full-fabulous-without-surgery/.  I wanted to 'redefine the contours of my lips' as the description states on Boots. The shade above is Always Toasted and is the natural lip colour.

I have to say I really do not like this product! It is so dry and I find it takes me ages to get the colour to go on my lips and I have to press down hard which makes my lips really sore! I also keep breaking it too..I am disappointed in this product and will not be buying this again. I am trying to think of one positive from Loreal Infallible Lipline but really can not find one..

My Favourite Perfumes

TR-Gucci Rush-Centre Justin Bieber-TL Beyonce-BR Robert Cavalli-BL Chancel Chance

I thought I would do a blog post on perfumes because I looooove perfumes, unhealthy addiction, maybe i should open my own perfume shop that would be amazing :)

The picture above shows some of my current favorites and all-time favorite is Chanel Chance and in close Robert Cavalli. The Chanel one in the picture is 50ml which is around £52 but I managed to get it a bit less from Debenhams as it was on offer, wahoo you go Debenhams have a round of applause on me!

Now I try to use my Chanel one for mainly special occassions, omg. I just had one of them little flys on me D: (not that you needed to know, but I'm a sharer).

Anyhoo, so far everyday I will use my Gucci Rush or Beyonce, Katy Perry (seems I like the celeb ones!) though I do find Beyonce one's smell doesn't last long. I like a perfume that last for ages and kills the person next to me :). I also like Justin Bieber's Someday - don't hate ;) I think it's definitely a better smell than his first one but I would prefer if he came out with a more less fruity smell and more Chanel smell (high hopes)...

So I hope you liked my post, I would love if you can recommend some good perfumes for me to try!
